I know for most of you Wednesday is affectionately known as "hump day." Well, here in K-town we rejoice because it is the end...The end of another week. The end of waking up at 5:30am (and praying for a snow day). The end of getting ready by lantern light. The end of trying to decide if it's worth starting a fire in my bukhari (wood stove) or if I want to begin the "gassing" process early (by using my little propane heater-Between that and our diesel heaters in our classrooms, I can come home at the end of the night a little high! :-). The end of rushing to school and then to the office and then to whatever else the night may hold. It's the end of busyness and the beginning of relaxation.
And so as I sit here in the office with my fellow teachers and teammates, we begin our weekend. I have somehow become the office DJ and have started my own version of "The Drive at 5pm" radio program. I have compiled a variety of tunes to kick off our break. (I think I've decided that if I didn't make it as a big time magazine editor, I wouldn't mind working as a radio DJ.... The possibilities are endless for a career change at 30...Right?!!)
Well, honestly, my brain is fried from a long week and now the music is taking me to another a place. So I think I'll end this post and start again tomorrow. (So much for clever thoughts and poetic magic, huh?!) God willing, tomorrow will begin anew and so will my brain waves!
