i need a blue-sky holiday...
Today our community development staff had our 6 month meeting. I won't bore you with all the details, as even I didn't feel much like being present. Yawn.
I, did, however want to share what was written on the English version of our meeting's agenda. (I know I shouldn't laugh as they are so kind to compensate for my first grade reading level in their language!) But here's what the agenda stated:
"5. Are the appalled employs satisfied from their jobs?"
I thought, "Oh boy! This is going to be fun!" as I highly doubted the "appalled" employees were satisfied with their jobs if they have to use that term.
I cracked a smile and then asked R what he meant by that word. He said that he was trying to say "employed employees." I told him that just writing employees was sufficient and then I explained the meaning of the word "appalled."
We all laughed.
Another day of fun in cross-cultural communication.
