The party that I was organizing for the Cali Girl's Birthday was changed from Thursday night...to Friday night...to...not at all- thanks to the fact that her whole team was involved in serving coffee and food and what not to all the diplomats and big wigs in town for some economics conference. Lucky them. (Sarcasm intended, A)
Really?! Should that take precedence over California Girl's birthday? I think not. But that's just me. We're trying to reschedule, but life is kind of crazy for everyone right now. (A, I will make this up to you. I promise. Maybe in O-to-the-Man?! Regardless... Happy Birthday, Friend!!!)
Have I mentioned that it didn't go as planned? Oh yeah. I did.
But you know what? It turned out to be pretty good anyway.
It's interesting how life here makes me appreciate the sweetness found in simplicity. The candles and lanterns glowing on my rooftop...long conversations with friends...the beauty of a sunset...the stars and the moon shining up above...
I am blessed and my heart is full of gratitude.
Amendment Since This Morning: The party is back on. For tonight. And there are two cool things about that...
1. Today is the actual day of the California Girl's birth...26 years ago.
2. It's a work night.--Which makes it a bit more chaotic to organize, but adds to it a feeling of doing something a little crazy. ;) (Like being out past 10pm on a school night or something.) Ha!

I was just thinking this morning about the great going away party you all threw for me...and these pix remind me of that again :)
oh, the roof looks beautiful! I know the party was wonderful tonight!
Noel--I was remembering your party as well. I was wishing there was a way to hang up some flowing material to make it like a tent or something. But there's not...or at least not very easily.
Meredith--Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Remember: This could all be yours. ;)
