So today I had a vision of myself...in the year 1955.
Oh yes. Random, I know. But you see, I've been feeling domesticated this past week. The family that I live with has been out of the country and I've had the whole house (including the kitchen) to myself.
"So what's a girl to do?" you ask.
Cook, of course.
And so I have.
Chicken, chili soup, homemade dressings, herb bread, sausage and biscuits...it's all been done (from scratch, mind you). And yes, I've been pleased.
But it wasn't until I was upstairs this afternoon that I had an epiphany: this domestication thing had gone too far! For in one moment, I looked down and realized I was still wearing my apron while vacuuming the floor. Aagh!
I don't think Doris Day could have been any more proud. I, on the other hand, just had to stop and laugh.
Sometimes I hardly recognize myself in this place. Usually it's because I'm completely covered in a black sheet-like thing. Today it was because I was vacuuming in an apron, all the while I had home-made bread baking in the oven.
Could someone please cue the "Identity Crisis" soundtrack now...

Two comments/questions...
1) Have I shared how I traveled back and forth through time? You laugh...but it actually happened.
2) How did the bread turn out? Better than your cake experiment a while back, I hope.
don't feel bad. this "identity crisis" hits me every weekend (and during the week if i'm stressed). my freezer is full of muffins and apple and plum pie filling - all made from scratch. i have no idea when it can possibly be eaten. wanna join me?
OK...
Bearded-I hope you are talking about crossing international datelines or something, because if you truly believe you're a 'time traveler' I think you need help.
Concerning the bread...well, let's just say I never claimed to be any good at this cooking thing!
Lyndee-I would LOVE to join you. Someday, my friend. Someday. Either in your country or mine. It's a must.
TIME TRAVEL...
1) When I lived at the South Pole, some of my friends and I would stand on the pole (a small yellow marker) and spin: "TODAY! TOMORROW!" or in your case..."TODAY! YESTERDAY!" We'd also 'travel' around the world in a less than a second.
Keep in mind, there's not much to do there.
2) Ever hear of the 'flux capacitor?'
Bearded-
1. Phew! I'm relieved that *this* was how you *time traveled.)
2. Back to the Future?
