I spent a lot of time hanging out in my Loft--creating, thinking, reading, and watching Gilmore Girls. Have I mentioned how much I love the Loft? Because I do. In fact, I don't think words could even describe how happy that place makes me.
I've inserted some pictures for all of you who are curious to see what I've done with the place.
The door was originally in my bedroom, but I moved it upstairs and I think it adds a lot. Also I put in those two little shelves in the window. I'd been thinking about a place to put all that blue and green glass that's blown right here in my city and after sitting up there and seeing how beautifully the sun comes through that window, I thought it would be the perfect place.
So here's My Loft...
I also spent a lot of time listening to music. (No surprise there!) A few of my recent favorites on my playlist include the following:
*Iron & Wine--Such Great Heights; Naked As We Came
*Meiko--How Lucky We Are; Reasons to Love You
*The Cinematic Orchestra--To Build a Home
*Ingrid Michaelson--Breakable
*Waterdeep--Annie
It's all very chill and mellow, but it's exactly what I've been needing in my life right now.
This weekend (which begins tomorrow for me) I'm planning a rooftop birthday party for the California Girl. I have a lot of grandiose ideas, but I'm not really sure how it's all going to play out. I have to remind myself where I live and what's actually available. But then again, I guess that's half the fun.

Wow, I love seeing the pix of your sanctuary!! It's lovely!! I hope your party is lots of fun :) I wish this cali girl could be there too :)
Rearranging furniture? GILMORE GIRLS?!! This is a 'girls' post. ugh.
Noel--Well the "Pres" has messed up my party plans, so there won't be any celebrating on my rooftop this weekend. Bummer. Maybe you can make it to the next big gig I host though. ;)
Bearded--What a sexist thing to say! Do I ever comment on your stupid "Avs" post being for "boys"? I think not. I think we can both argue that all of the above are enjoyed by both genders. Maybe not you liking GG (or at least not admitting to it) or me liking the Avs...but I'm sure somewhere there are girls and guys who can appreciate them all.
You stumped me. You played the sexist card and I've got nothing...except this:
A while back I seem to remember a certain red-head and CO/CA girl complaining that all I wrote about was hockey.
Comments?
try the music of Foy Vance. Whoa. He might just rock your world a little bit.
Bearded--Comments?? Hmm...That IS all you wrote about. It wasn't a complaint. Just a statement of fact. And I never mentioned that it wasn't suitable for the female gender. :)
Jordanne--Thanks for the recommendation. I love it! I'll look him up today!
I love your loft. I think the door might be my favorite piece of your furniture. A note of warning. . .Holli put her blue glass in the window and during the 120 days of wind a strong gust caused her to spend significant time on the rug (I forget what that is called) cleaning up broken glass :) Then of course, the glass blower didn't have the same pieces when we went back to replace them. I guess, the wind is probably over by now. Love reading your updates.
Erin-Thanks! And thanks for the warning about the glass. The wind has finally died down now, but it's still a good reminder for the future. Then again, maybe you'll be back when they pick up again to remind me in person. :)
