OK-
I've always been a Charmin-girl. You know, "the squeezably soft" brand of toilet paper? The white, fluffy, and super soft to the skin, Charmin? Well that's pretty much the only brand I would buy in the States.
Now I'm no idiot and I knew there would be no Charmin in this part of the world. I guess it was a sacrifice I was prepared to make (that and Mountain Spring Tide washed laundry, rinsed in the same scent of Downey).
Well, it has been a year and a half now and I thought I had adjusted quite nicely to a particular "not-so-squeezably" soft brand. That was, until, that not-so-squeezably soft brand apparently sold out in this city! Yeah. That's right. Now they are trying to sell us crepe paper disguised as toilet tissue! WHAT???
I questioned this city-wide TP shortage, but after a couple of unsuccessful shopping trips on the part of my teammates, as well as talking to other foreign friends of mine, I've discovered it's true! The stores are completely out of what I like to call "bearable" stuff and now we are simply left to suffer with these pink crepe paper rolls that should really be used to decorate for an 8- year old girl's birthday party, as opposed to...well, you know.
Anyway, I'm sure a new shipment will come in soon. They always do. I guess I'm just learning a new appreciation for the other stuff that I used to think was so horrible.
