I bought a super cute new hat today.
I LOVE hats, scarfs, & gloves.
They make me happy.
And this one does just that.
Did I mention that it has matching gloves?
It's like happiness times two!
(Of course I'll only get to enjoy wearing these two items of joy a bit longer. Before I know it I'll be covering my head in a completely different way. A way, that I must admit, doesn't quite bring the same joy. But being in that place does, so I'll take the good with the bad I guess.)
But I digress. As I've mentioned once or twice before, I also love Starbucks. For the majority of my time here in Btown, I've always preferred the drive-thru 'Bucks as opposed to the other one in the other direction...and definitely over the one inside Kroger.
Well, I've changed my mind.
Today I went to the other 'Bucks in the other direction. And I fell in love. Not so much with a particular drink (although my extra hot vanilla latte was wonderful). Today I fell in love with my Barista.
Dark, curly hair. Brown eyes. Scruffy face. Probably still in college. C*U*T*E.
And get this...The feeling was mutual. You wanna know how I know?
Upon handing me my drink he said this...
"You look really cute in your hat."
OK...not really. I had wanted him to, but if a guy is complimenting you on your teal blue hat, he may not be that into you (or girls at all, for that matter). JK! --I'm totally stereotyping!
Alright, this is what he said...
"The stars will be jealous of you tonight."
Yeah right! That was in a movie.
OK, give up? This is really what he said and the moment I knew he was in love...
"You try and stay warm out there."
SEE?! See what I mean? Let's face it: He totally wants me. So let me just put myself on the line here....
Dear Mr. Cutie Patootie Starbucks Barista,
We were meant for each other. You work at Starbucks. I love Starbucks. What more could you ask for? Let's not deny our feelings any longer. Call me! Or...I'll just come by sometime. After all, you are employed at my new favorite place of escape. Either way, we'll talk soon.
Love,
Your Favorite Girl

You always make me laugh. I do think teal is your color. Remember the hat you bought in KC last year.
you are too funny! i wonder how many guys think i'm in love with them when i said something like that to them at work... gosh, i'm probably married off right now :) you do look cute in your new attire... stratigically place yourself in his eye sight next time. let him come to you baby, let him come to you :)
My cousin's son is visiting this weekend and I asked him to bring up my copy of God's Politics. I figure I can skim the chapters as you read them. let me know what the first topic of discussion is for the weekend.
Regarding your Starbucks' boy...what I want to know is "what did you say?!'' He took the first step and...you wrote him a letter?
You people are funny!
Cliff--Of course I remember the hat in KC. Your comment afterwards still makes me laugh. :)
LB--Thanks. But you should probably know that you probably are married off by now. Ha!
Bearded--I would like to beg to differ on who took the first step. I OBVIOUSLY had to order my drink! Geesh! Give the girl some credit.
Noel--Glad to make you laugh. It's good for the soul. :) And you know me and "dares." ...But I'm beyond that now. Ha!
hmm, i remember someone also writing a letter to jamie cullum last year. did he ever respond? =)i am in the process of writing a very witty letter to one sufjan stevens, wanting to know if he would want to grow old together, writing of our world travels and surrounding ourselves with good music. cheer on the cards for me, and drink a chai tea latte to celebrate the victory. much love.
And did you also write a letter to Harry Conick Jr breaking up with him? I think people appreciate actual interaction rather than your blog with matters of the heart. Just a suggestion.
